SpongeBob is back for another adventure!  Actually it’s more of a party where he and his friends can get together and suds things up.

Playing much like the Nintendo game that is now going into its seventh edition (Mario Party), SpongeBob: Lights, Cameras, Pants is a game of mini-games.  From Super Monkey Ball-style mini-games to Guitar Freaks-style mini-games where four players can tap the square, X, circle or triangle buttons to the beat of music.  They determine how and when to hit the face buttons by watching the icons scroll on-screen.  Hit the right icon – score big!  Hit the wrong icon and, well, at least you still have friends.  For now...

One of the mini-games I got to play was the Goo-Latiator.  Four characters hop on a tricycle and try to push each other off the small, rounded platform.  The person that stays on the longest wins.  Two or three players can also experience this mini-game, and although I could not get a confirmation on it, I would assume that one player could practice playing the mini-games as well.

This is the first multiplayer SpongeBob game, and even though it looks, sounds and plays like a Mario Party clone, it does have one very unique feature: 2-on-2 battles.  Team up with a friend (or the best player in the house – could be Aunt Edna!) and take on two other real-life players.

Playable characters include SpongeBob and his friends, as well as other characters that he interacts with on the show.  Every mini-game is laced with SpongeBob elements, which should make the party ultra-appealing to younger gamers who can’t get enough of the SquarePants man.
