One of Nintendo's titles that received a quick look was Donkey Konga. The game
uses a pair of bongos to control the action and players are asked to time
striking the bongos in various coded ways, as well as clap, to score points.
There are a wide variety of songs, and the bongos can be programmed for
different sounds. Some of the sounds can be unlocked through success within the
game.
The game has more than 30 songs and while a side-scrolling title with somewhat simplified graphical elements, the key ingredient of this title is fun. This would be a great family party title. Single players would also get a “bang” out of the title as well. Those playing the demo were laughing almost constantly, even as their eyebrows furrowed with concentration.
One DK bongo will be sold with the game, but as this is a GameCube title, up to four can play by buying other bongos separately.
